Van Gogh Style Landscapes… Fast!

Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh created paintings with bright bold colors and thick textural paint, he is  a popular artist to study but a difficult one to emulate. For this project we took inspiration from the color, and subject matter of van Gogh’s paintings and the line and texture found in his drawings.

Project Requirements
Press hard with the crayon
Use distinct marks for each area
Fill the paper

This project offers the control and magic of crayon resist while elevating the medium.
Quickly create unique artworks based on landscape photography
Students explore the element of texture and assign diverse lines to trees, water, sty, and land.
Requires students to fill the paper and bring visual interest to all areas.
